HOW DO I GET PICTURES OR PHOTOS TO REAPPEAR IN MY EMAIL?

When someone sends pictures and/or photos, they do not appear in my email. The picture boxes are blank with a small gray x at the top left corner. I cannot download a picture. It sends a message that says, (the requested URL was not found on this server). Please help, thanks.
