Career Exploration?

Hey all, I like trying new jobs in hoping to find the one that fits. Right now I like my job, but I know there is more out there and I'm going to college majoring in Criminal Justice/Psychology, but I have also applied to a selective English degree program(dream shot). I guess I am indecisive, and I hate it for everyone involved. I would like more pay and better hours to see my husband. I'm currently a waitress and I have various experience in other fields. I know it doesnt look good me leaving these jobs(the one I really like that I had, I can't get back because they aren't hiring). I just know that what I learn in college(even though good), isn't going to be the real world. I love dealing with the public, I'm a quick learner and a very hard worker and have left on good terms. I'm looking at applying to 2 different jobs, a jailer and a medical record secretary. I just want to see what is out there, what do you think about this? p.s. Temping is not available in my area!
